Unfortunately, the progression of the pandemic made it clear that the most prudent course of action for the safety and health of everyone involved is to shift our in-person event to an online experience.

Q: How can I access the virtual event portal after the event?
A: Your login access at safety2020.hubb.me will remain active through August 21, 2020. If you forgot or need to reset your user name please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: How do I track which sessions I’ve viewed?
A: Add sessions to your Schedule Tool to keep track of your progress in real time. Your transcript will also reflect which sessions you have viewed, but are updated less frequently, usually within two weeks.
Q: When will I start to see my CEUs appear on my transcript?
A: Transcripts will begin to be available Monday, July 13, 2020. If you don’t have an update right away, please continue to check back. Transcript updates will take place every Monday until August 24, 2020.
Q: Will the transcript include the date the session was accessed?
A: Yes, the CEU credit date on your transcript will be the date the session was accessed.
Q: If I view part of a session and need to stop, but go back in and view the remainder at another time, will I still get the full CEU credit for that session?
A: Yes, if you view the complete session video, even if you start/stop or need to log out/in, you will still receive credit.
Q: How do I access my transcript?
A: To access your CEU transcript, you will need to login in to your ASSP online account. Once you are logged in, your will need to click on the My Account tab at the top of the page. On the left side of the page in the Education and Content section you will see Transcript. Click on Transcript. This will bring up a list of all the CEU’s you have with ASSP. You can either print or download the transcript.
Q: What is Safety 2020: Virtual?
A: Safety 2020: Virtual brings the ASSP Professional Development Conference and Expo to you online via three days of educational sessions, learning opportunities and networking experiences that you can access through your computer with audio and internet access.
Q: Who should attend Safety 2020: Virtual?
A: Our conference offers education for safety professionals at all levels and areas of experience. We are developing a great selection of sessions delivered by many of the industry trendsetters who were scheduled to present in Orlando.
Q: Where will Safety 2020: Virtual be held?
A: Safety 2020: Virtual is a completely virtual event. Attendees, speakers and exhibitors will gather online to share, learn and interact from their remote locations. There will be no in-person component.
Q: When will Safety 2020: Virtual be held?
A: We are hosting the virtual conference on the same dates: June 23-25, 2020. Programming will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT on June 23 and 24, and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on June 25.
Q: Why did ASSP decide to move to a completely virtual event?
A: The progression of the COVID-19 pandemic made it clear that the most prudent course of action for the safety and health of everyone involved is to shift the in-person event to a virtual experience. Given the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we believe a virtual conference offers the best setting for you to build the knowledge, skills and abilities you need to solve your top safety challenges.
A virtual event also allows us to provide more CEUs. If you participate in our full Safety 2020: Virtual event, you will earn 6.5 CEUs. That is over 4 times what you would earn in our in-person event.
In addition, a virtual event can help us attract a wider audience than is possible during the current situation. Safety professionals can participate from wherever they are, including individuals whose companies have current travel restrictions as well as those whose limited travel budgets prevented them from registering to attend our in-person event.
Q: How can I participate in Safety 2020: Virtual?

Q: Will there be an exhibition?
A: Safety 2020: Virtual will include a virtual exhibition so you will have the opportunity to connect with top vendors as well as ASSP sponsors to learn about the latest OSH innovations throughout the event. Q: My organization was either an event sponsor or an advertiser in the conference program. What will happen with our sponsorship or advertising?
A: We truly value the support ASSP receives from our sponsors, advertisers and entire safety vendor and supplier community. We are connecting with these stakeholders to discuss how they can engage with attendees in Safety 2020: Virtual.
Virtual Conference Experience FAQ
Q: What is included in my registration?
A: Three full days of education, including:
- General session speakers Alex Sheen, TEDx Talk speaker, author and humanitarian and Neil Pasricha, NY Times Bestselling Author and TED Speaker
- 60 concurrent education sessions, featuring live Q&A with the speaker
- 60-day access to all recorded concurrent education sessions
- 2 Plenary sessions
- Earn up to 6.5 CEUs/recertification points
- Virtual Expo access
Q: How many CEUs will I earn by attending?
A: Virtual participants will earn up to 6.5 CEUs (recertification points) for their participation. By attending the entire session, you will receive .1 credit for that one session. One session = .1 CEUs. To receive the full 6.5CEUs/recertification points, you will need to attend/complete all concurrent sessions. You will have access to all concurrent session recordings for 60 days after the event and will continue to accrue CEUs during this time.
Q: When can I expect my CEUs to appear on my transcript?
A: If you attend the live virtual event from June 23 – 25, expect your CEUs to be entered about two weeks after the conference. If you participate in additional on-demand sessions after the conference, those CEUs will typically be entered within 7 to 10 days. To access your ASSP CEU records, you’ll need to log on to the ASSP website, then click “My Account” and click “Transcript.”
Q: I already registered for the in-person Safety 2020 Conference & Expo. What are my choices now that you are moving to an all-virtual format?
A: Registration fees for our virtual conference are the same as they were for the in-person conference.
To transfer your registration to the virtual event, please complete this form before Thursday, May 21, 2020.
If you do not want to transfer your registration, please complete this form to:
- Cancel your registration but ask ASSP to hold your funds on account for future use.
- Cancel your registration and receive a full refund of your fees.
Q: I was also registered to attend a lunch or reception at Safety 2020. Will those events happen in a virtual setting? If no, what are my options for those funds?
A: We are not holding ancillary events such as lunches and receptions during Safety 2020: Virtual. If you elect to transfer your registration to the virtual event, the fees you paid for those events will be credited to your ASSP account. You can apply these funds toward another ASSP educational offering through July 1, 2021. If you elect to cancel your conference registration, all fees associated with Safety 2020 will be refunded.
Q: How do I register for the virtual event?

Q: What will ASSP do to ensure a safe virtual environment?
A: Upon registering, all attendees agree to adhere to ASSP’s Code of Professional Conduct. We reserve the right to remove attendees not behaving consistent with the Code of Conduct.
Q: Is my information shared with exhibitors?
A: By participating in this event, you agree to ASSP sharing your full contact information with exhibitors and sponsors. To opt-out, visit the event platform, navigate to your attendee profile and select “No” under “Do you consent to sharing your data?”
Q: How do I log into a virtual event on the day of the event?
A: After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the event. Emails to access the event portal will be sent to registered attendees on Monday, June 22.
Q: Can my computer or device handle Safety 2020: Virtual?
A: The virtual conference will work on most up-to-date laptops, desktops and handheld tablets. Additional information will be provided prior to the event on the Virtual Portal.

Q: Do I need to have a webcam for the event?
A: A webcam is not required to attend Safety 2020: Virtual.
Q: Will I be able to see the presenters for each session?
A: Our general sessions will stream full video showing the presenter and other visual elements.
For the concurrent sessions, we will stream a combination of the presenter via webcam accompanied by PowerPoint and other visual elements shared by the presenter. Our speakers will be available live online for Q&A during each session broadcast.
Q: Do I have to attend the entire event?
A: Virtual events bring the experience of an in-person conference to your personal computer. So just like at an in-person conference, you can select the sessions you attend. We encourage you to attend the entire event — including general sessions, concurrent sessions and virtual networking chats — to get the most out of the experience.
Q: Will I have access to all the education sessions?
A: You can select which sessions you’d like to attend virtually based on your interests and schedule. You may attend as many or as few sessions as you want. Recordings of concurrent sessions will be available for 60 days after the event.
Q: Can I ask questions during the educational sessions?
A: We encourage you to ask the speaker questions live during each session via the Q&A tool.
Q: If I miss a session, will session recordings be available?
A: This is a great benefit of a virtual event. Your Safety 2020: Virtual registration includes access to recordings of all concurrent session for 60 days after the event. So, you can watch sessions you missed or re-watch sessions you attended to confirm what you learned.
Q: Can I share my virtual conference log-in information with other members of my team?
A: Each paid registration for Safety 2020: Virtual permits the use of the platform specifically for that registered attendee. Continuing education units earned, questions asked and polling conducted during each session are tied to the account of the person who purchased the virtual event. Your access to Safety 2020: Virtual content is intended for your use only and may not be rebroadcast or shared.
Travel and Hotel FAQ
Q: What will happen with my hotel reservation for Safety 2020 in Orlando?
A: If you booked with onPeak, our authorized housing provider, you do not need to take any action. We will be working with them to cancel those hotel reservations in the next several days.
However, if you booked your own reservation with a hotel in Orlando outside of ASSP’s contracted hotel blocks, you will need to contact that hotel directly to cancel your reservation.
Q: What will happen with my flight to Orlando?
A: Please contact your travel agent or the airline to cancel or reschedule your flight. ASSP cannot assist with flight cancellations.
