ASSP Responds to COVID-19 Developments | March 18, 2020
As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic evolves, health authorities at the local, state and federal levels are working assertively to “flatten the curve” of the virus – in other words slow down the community spread of the disease. While more citizens will get the virus, these safeguards are designed to prevent large spikes in new cases that could overwhelm our healthcare system. That is why we have seen major sports leagues suspend play, schools cancel classes, companies postpone events and other social-distancing measures that keep crowds from gathering in enclosed spaces.
ASSP has joined this effort.
We Are Committed to Your Health & Wellness
The health and well-being of our event attendees, speakers and staff is our top priority. ASSP’s Board of Directors and staff are closely monitoring the latest guidance from organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization, as well as information from local health and government authorities.
We Expect to Present Safety 2020
As of March 18, we plan to present Safety 2020 June 23-25, in Orlando, FL. This includes our pre- and post-conference courses. We understand that some companies are temporarily restricting travel and/or conference registration at this time, and we recognize your need for flexibility. That’s why we have extended our early registration rate deadline through Monday, April 27, at 11:59 p.m. CT. In the event Safety 2020 is cancelled, we will refund your registration payment.
We Will Keep You Informed
As an occupational safety and health leader that has stood for safety for more than 100 years, ASSP takes seriously its responsibility to evaluate risks, keep perspective and make decisions based on the latest available evidence. We will continue to assess the latest information as we evaluate the situation in the coming weeks, and we will promptly communicate our decisions about Safety 2020 to you.
We Will Provide Support & Resources
During this time, ASSP will provide resources that help you and your organizations respond effectively to this pandemic. You can find a recording of our March 18 coronavirus Q&A session on our website. We have also published an article on The Safety Professional’s Role in Planning for a Pandemic.
If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or +1 847 699.2929.
To take advantage of our early-bird discounts, register on or before April 27, 2020. After June 22, 2020, please register on site.
You must submit a completed registration form, along with full payment, to process your registration (your credit card information or company check payable to ASSP). We will not process registrations without full payment.
To substitute one person for another, please submit the information by May 11 to email@example.com. If the registration rate has changed, you will be charged the difference. After May 11, a $100 substitution fee will apply.
ASSP will grant full refunds of registration fees to cancellation requests received by May 4, 2020 via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will assess the following fees to cancellations received via e-mail between May 5 and May 22: Conference $325; Pre/Post-Conference Courses $100/course. After May 22, no refunds will be issued. In addition, no refunds will be issued for any missed sessions or events (luncheons, etc.), including sessions or events missed due to travel delays or cancellations. In the event SAFETY 2020 is cancelled, registration payments will be fully refunded.
ASSP makes every effort to ensure that the program schedule, events and prices remain as published. However, since unforeseen changes may occur, we reserve the right to make changes. Please refer to the Safety 2020 app for the most up to date schedule.
Bring eight or more colleagues from your company and save on the entire conference. The more attendees you have and the earlier you register, the more you save. All attendees from your group must be registered and paid by June 12, 4:00 pm CDT*. Note: If cancellations reduce your group size to a lower discount level, each registrant will be billed the difference between the discount applied and the next discount level fee. *Rates vary based on registration date. Contact Nancy O’Toole at +1.847.768.3466 or email@example.com.
To receive the government rate, you must be a full-time local, state or federal government employee. ASSP must receive a completed government purchase order (PO) or training authorization form with your registration form if not paid in full at the time of registration. However, this is not considered payment. Your registration will have a balance due until full payment is received. ASSP will return registrations received without a PO or training authorization form.
If you allow your badge to be scanned by an exhibitor, you agree to ASSP sharing your full contact information with the exhibitor. Registration and attendance at, or participation in ASSP professional development, constitutes an agreement by the registrant to ASSP’s use and distribution of the attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audio tapes of such events and activities.
